Murray and Jane Averill are the Senior Pastors at Nexus Church. They have been married for over 20 years and are the parents of two great daughters, Emily and Alice. They love doing life with each other and with the Nexus community and are excited by all that God is doing.

Murray is a keen student of leadership and follower of sport, particularly Rugby Union. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Educational Studies, Master of Educational Administration, and Master of Business Administration. In 1993 he was awarded a Faculty Medal for highest results in the Master of Educational Administration program. He is currently completing a Master of Arts (Theological Studies).

Jane also comes from an educational background, and is a qualified teacher. She loves being a wife, mother and friend, and has a great gift at connecting with and loving people. She is honoured to pastor alongside Murray at Nexus, and it is her desire to encourage, inspire and love all Nexus women.

We have a fantastic team of people involved in the life of Nexus Church, including an amazing team of dedicated volunteers.

Glen has been attending Nexus Church for over 25 years and currently oversee's Pastoral Care in the life of the church. He has been married to Maureen for 25 years, and they have four great children – Ruth, Benjamin, Phoebe and David. Maureen has a heart for young mothers and organises various social events and programs for mothers within the church, she is also involved in pastoral care. Glen has a number of qualifications in Arts and Theology and has trained as a Secondary School Teacher. He also has a Master of Theology with the Brisbane College of Theology.

Stephen and Ruth have been a part of Nexus for years, and they love building into this community of great people! Ruth works at Nexus overseeing Community Engagement, Momentum Young Adults, and is also the CEO of Nexus Care. Stephen has his own media production company and also oversees our media recording ministry at Nexus. They both love great coffee, hanging out with friends and meeting new people.

Dave and Jude have attended Nexus for several years and have a great passion for children and bringing them into a relationship with God. They have been married for 17 years and have three children - Zac, Mariah and Josiah. Both Dave and Jude are Primary teachers and each hold a Bachelor of Ministries. Together, Dave and Jude coordinate the Children’s and Young Families Ministries here at Nexus Church. Their desire is to connect families together and to see the next generation of Nexus raised up and loving Jesus with all their hearts.

Ps. Tim Greenwood

Youth Pastor & EMT Principal

Tim has been on staff at Nexus Church for over seven years and is excited about what God is doing in the supernatural through everyday people. In 2012 Tim has become the Youth Pastor at Nexus Church and is the Principal of Encounter Ministry Training. Tim has been married to Jess for over five years and they love pizza, hanging out with friends and family, and watching movies. Tim also loves long-boarding and he regularly goes on adventures up to 50kms skates with a group of dedicated skateboarders.

Linda has been at Nexus Church since 2003 and on staff for 4 years. She absolutely adores our Church, the amazing people, the incredible team and is excited about all that God is doing. She is married to the wonderful Bryan and has a gorgeous son, Tim.  Her role at Nexus is the Church Administrator and Pastor over our Prayer Ministry Teams.  She is passionate about prayer and seeking God's presence and loves to see people set free to become all they can be.  Linda loves hanging out with friends, eating good food, walking her huskies with her husband and going on missions trips.

Ps. Joelle Morgan

Creative & Worship Pastor

Joelle joined the Nexus staff in early 2011, taking up the position of Creative & Worship Pastor. She has been involved in creative arts and worship for 20 years. Joelle has a great husband Clint and a beautiful daughter Eden, and is passionate about her friends, community, the arts, horse riding and snow skiing. When she gets the opportunity, she would love to finish her Degree in Archaeology.

Cindy McGarvie

Global Engagement Director

Cindy and her husband Rod have been connected to Nexus for nearly 25 years and have five children, Adin, Josiah, Eli, Kezia and Tess. From 1998-2010, they worked with SIL International in language development work in Uganda and Tanzania. Cindy is passionate about equipping and empowering others to serve cross-culturally, either locally, nationally or globally. She loves reading, playing squash and spending time with her family.

Ps. Nathan McMillan

Assistant Youth & Campus Pastor

After interning at Nexus Church during 2010, Nathan now works as Assistant Campus and Youth Pastor. He has a heart to see young people become Christians for life and become planted in the house. Nathan is studying Psychological Science at UQ, and in his spare time he will find any excuse to be around the water, fishing, boating, water skiing, and swimming, he love's it all.
