Church Events and Services
Any event or service we hold at Nexus happens because teams of great people are passionate about living the message and serving the vision! Some people can help on a regular basis, some can help with once-off events - but everyone can do something to make Nexus events exceptional.
Everyone can play their part - whether you like working in a team or prefer to serve in the background; if you thrive with practical tasks or are more people focused...

Service Teams
The Nexus Service Teams help host our services, and cover all the 'people' aspects, such as welcoming, helping people find a seat and ensuring people can get the information they need, as well as the practical things, like making sure lights are on and putting out the tea and coffee!

Helping our kids and youth
During our 8:30am, 10:30am and 6pm services, we have Kids' Church for those aged 3 years to Grade 6. Encounter Alpha runs in our 8:30am and 10:30am service for those in Grade 7-9.
You can invest in the next generation and make a significant difference!
Kids' church need helpers, who are rostered on a month on, month off basis. Areas of involvement include helping with the Sign-In Team or being a Kids Church leader. All those involved require Blue Cards (a Positive Notice for Working with Children) and we provide training. For more information, email Our e-mail addresses employ anti-spam measures. Encounter Alpha requires those who can help facilitate Sunday morning programs for teenagers from years 7 to 9. Our Friday night Encounter Youth program is another great opportunity to get involved with young people, and we are always looking for new leaders. Hospitality teams
Our hospitality teams help create a great atmosphere after our services. By providing tea, coffee and hot chocolate, Nexus is abuzz with the sound of conversation long after the meeting finishes.

Help in the Manna House Team
Volunteers are needed for our Manna House food parcel ministry to:
- Pick up bread from local bakeries on a monthly basis
- Pick up groceries once every 6 weeks
- Unpack groceries once every 6 weeks
Help people get to church
Are you available one Sunday a month and have a license? You can be a blessing and help pick people up for church.
Join our Bus Ministry and help those without transport to get to church.

Caring for the sick by cooking
You’re sick, the kids are hungry and you are wishing a meal would just miraculously appear? We know that feeling - that’s why we have ‘Meal Bank’ to provide precooked meals for times of crisis for families in our church.

Prayer Ministry
Perhaps you would love to become part of our church prayer chain? As needs arise, the prayer chain people are called with the prayer needs. It is a crucial and foundational ministry of Nexus. TV team
Television is becoming an increasingly important way to communicate and we would love to see even more media spots as a part of our services, website and promotions. If you are interested in television, whether that be:
- editing
- filming
- producing
- scripting

Schools Outreach
- Primary RE or High school lunch programs
- Religious Education – materials and training provided
- Grade 1 at Everton Park Primary School after 11:30 on any day
- Grade 6/7 fortnightly on a Thursday afternoon
Mid-week Church musicians
Play Keyboard? Interested in playing once a month for the Mid-Week Church service? Being involved requires a rehearsal and service once a month.
