Miracle at the Train Station
Myself and another guy from Nexus were at Enoggera train station sitting at a bench and waiting for our train to arrive. A guy who looked a bit around 16 or 17 came over and asked for the time. I sort of felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to talk to him, so I think I asked him where he was headed or something to initiate conversation.
We found that he knew all about God and had a lot of bible knowledge ... He said his family goes to church most sundays but he keeps on 'stuffing up' or something to that effect (refering to himself going to parties, taking drugs, drinking etc).
He was amazed that neither of us drink or go to crazy parties. We kept talking, sort of encouraging him, and mentioned that Nexus has a lot of young adults stuff, he might enjoy coming along.
When he came over we had noticed a large boil on his leg that looked very painful, and infected. It was about twice the size of a 50c piece and swelled out from his leg about a fingers width and it was dark red/black. I asked him what it was from (a mozzie bite / sore that simply got infected) and said "can we pray for you?". He smiled and said yeah sure.
After talking for another minute or so, I explained that we meant "can we pray for you now?". I didn't want to embarrass him too much so just put my arm on his shoulder and without shutting my eyes or anything, prayed a quick prayer something to the effect of "Jesus thanks that we met this guy today, he seems like an awesome guy and I believe you wanted us to meet him. I pray for his leg, Holy Spirit that your healing power would touch it, as we know you paid for all our sickness at the cross Jesus. Thankyou, amen".
It was literally only a 30 second prayer. After finishing he thanked us and I said "Does it feel any better, can you try it out and see?" (I learnt that was the important bit, thanks to Bill Johnson!
He was taken aback, but complied, and got up to try and walk. When he had came over to sit next to us, he had been limping quite badly (that was why we noticed the boil). He stood up and sort of took a few limping steps, then started to walk more normally. He told us it felt better, and I said "Does it really, or are you just saying that to make us feel good?" He said it honestly felt better. By this point his walking looked normal. I asked him "On a scale of 1 to 10, how much better does it feel, where 1 is terrible, 10 is perfect" He said a 7.
He was excited now, and came back to sit down, and as he did so, we looked at his leg and my mate said "The swelling is going down".
Sure enough, as we were watching, the boil was 'deflating' and the colour was becoming less dark black/red, and more like his skin colour. It did not completley disappear, but just about halved in size and the colour looked much more normal / less infected. He said there was no pain now when he walked.
About a minute later the train arrived and we got on. He sat at a different spot to us, so that was that, but as got off, he walked past us and said thanks to both of us :)
