Nexus is a great place for families and we believe in the next generation! NextGen is lead by our brilliant Kids and Young Families pastors - Dave and Jude Crank. Their passion to see the next generation engaged with God is obvious. Their pastoral gifting, as well as qualifications in ministry, nursing and education (yes - all three!) means you can relax knowing your children are being cared for and lead by highly capable and godly people.

We have a great range of ways for kids to connect to God and each other at Nexus.

There's a fantastic kids church for ages 3-Grade 6 operating in our 8:30am and 10:30am services, and a fun Kid's program for primary aged children in our 6pm service. We also have Connect Kids on Tuesdays during school terms, and Kidsplay fortnightly on Thursdays.

For those with children below 3 years of age, we have a supervised creche in our 8:30am and 10:30am services, and a parents room and nursing mothers room in all our services.

Reading the Bible is an important part of being a Christian and learning about Jesus. Download a special reading plan developed especially for kids.

Download the Mark Reading Plan here. It covers the entire book over 11 weeks. Once your child has finished Mark, encourage them to take their completed plan into Kids Church for a special prize!

When children come along, we know that they bring with them lots of fun - and lots of changes!

We have a young families pastoral care team, who serve and link young families together. Catch up with the Link team, and others, each Sunday in the courtyard for coffee. A creche operates during our morning and evening services and caters for our littlest kids. Our welcoming team of leaders provide a safe environment where little ones can play and hear about Jesus. We have a brilliant kids program during our Sunday evening services. Sign your child in at the connect desk before the service. Kids get to stay in the praise and worship with their parents and then go to the lower level of the auditorium with a leader.

We have a creche as well as the 'Kidmo' DVD based program, and snacks for children up to Grade 6.

'Kidsplay' is our community playgroup, endorsed by Playgroups Qld.

It runs every second Thursday morning beneath our church auditorium from 9:30-11:30am, in a safe and secure environment, and caters for children from birth to age 5.

Playgroups are a fantastic opportunity for mums or dads to play with their children and to meet other families. All are welcome to come and get involved - just bring a hat and morning tea for your child, and we will provide the coffee and tea for you!

During the week our kids are not forgotten!

Our Connect Kids meet on Tuesday mornings from 9-11am in the Rainbow Room. Here we provide a fun, safe place to play and learn about Jesus while mums enjoy ‘Connections’ in the main auditorium.

Age Limits

Children between 1 yr old and school age are permitted to attend Connect kids. Babies under 12 months are welcome to stay in the main auditorium for Connections.

Morning Tea

All children are required to bring 1 piece of fruit (apple/orange/banana) to be cut up for a shared morning tea. No other foods will be allowed during the program.

The children will also require a bottle of water and a hat for outside play. We also recommend that sunscreen is applied prior to arriving

Fees

A fee of $2 per week per family helps us to cover the cost of resources and equipment. Payment may be made upfront each term or on a weekly basis if preferred.
